Born in Luleburgaz,
Turkey, Umut Egitimci is a producer of unique and quality movies, tv shows
and plays that focus on social issues and positivism.
While she was studying at Istanbul University Business Administration, she
attended a workshop about Producing for Radio & TV (Eurocom). She produced
radio shows called “Twin’s Corner” and “Umut`la
Yolculuk” on several stations such as; Fenerbahce FM, Capitol FM and
Kiss FM.Then she started to report and write for weekly economy newspaper
Barometre where she also contributed Turkey`s first economy television channel
Kanal E. She produced and directed her first television show called “Ozel
Bir Erkek” for Kanal E. She continued her TV producing career with
TGRT ( “Sabah Kahvaltisi”, “ Hanimlarla Sizin Icin”,
“ Merhaba” etc.) and Kanal 6 (“Top Secret”, “Lifestyle”,
“ Biz Kadinlar”). In the meanwhile as a socially active person,
she volunteered for an environmental foundation called CEKUL . She also
was an art director for a music album called “Asina`yim” and
directed her first music video for this singer (Deniz Muzik).
Then she went to New York City to improve her skills and took classes "On
Camera Techniques" and
"Pre-Production Planning for Film & Video" at New School University. She
had an internship at PBS/ Channel 13 at the production of "That Money Show".
She was the executive editor for a NYC published newspaper "Turkish Voice"
and wrote columns for Turkish Magazines;Meggazin.com and Elele . She co-produced
off-off
Broadway show called “I, Anatolia” and then started to work
with Tony & Emmy award winner producer Francine LeFrak ( Student Seduction/
Lifetime TV 2003- Asst. to Exec. Producer). Working as a "Director
of
Development" at LeFrak Productions for three years,, provided her with
valuable production experience and

inspired her to take on her
own projects in Istanbul. She attendedseveral seminars, workshops and panels
about producing for Film & TV at NYC Museum of TV& Radio, Tribeca
Film Festival etc.Some of her volunteer works include Christopher Reeve
Paralysis Foundation Magical Dinner Organizations (2001-2003). In NYC, she
produced an off-off Broadway show called “1001 New York Nights / WALL"
which also became a great success while performed at the 15th International
Istanbul Theatre Festival in 2006. After moving back to Istanbul, she worked
as a brand and marketing consultant for several companies like TANSA jewellery
and Örge Tulga Jewelry. She did one woman shows called "U Donusu",
"Bir Varmis, Iki Yokmus" and "Kronik Cambaz" at different
times in three years. She was the Editor in Chief for "Marka Group
Publications". She produced and directed a documentary called "The
Magical Call of Oryantal", video pod called "Fashion Hackers"
for Current TV and Sindy TV Commercials (Megabag SINDY & Skater SINDY).
As a video journalist she prepared pods for SouthEast Europe Project. She
contributes to several publications and websites of IwasinTurkey, Olive
Oil Times and Place For People.
She currently lives in Istanbul, Turkey and continues to develop new projects.
